A wet one
Jenn and I had to get one more good training session in before our next race this weekend. Tonight we tackled the 140th hill and attempted to run UP parts of it. Which we did a little of. But we were distracted by a crazy downpour and then this amazing double rainbow, which just had to be appreciated! Overall, we did 6.5 miles in 1 hr 42 mins. I am proud of us, and am much warmer after a long, hot shower.

Back to the normal routine
It felt good to get back to the normal routine today. While the boys played soccer, Darla and I walked the trail. Did 3 miles in under and hour. Even the sunshine made an appearance!

Finally, some trail time
My dear friends and I did 4.5 miles in 1:30 mins on the cedar river trail tonight. It was so nice to get back out there, I needed that. My soul sighed as my feet hit the pavement. Thanks, girls!

A little bit of slacking
No workout yesterday and no walk today, either. But, I did shovel dirt and push a wheelbarrel around for a good chunk of the day. I think that counts as exercise in my book.

No walk tonight
I am choosing to forgo a walk this evening.....my body is already sore and aching from a day of yard work. We shoveled, raked, removed grass clumps and rocks, and lifted wood for about 7 hours. Do you think that counts for enough exercise today? My body is saying, Yes!

Long haul on the Cedar River trail
Jenn and I continue to work the long miles on the weekends, getting us ready for our next 1/2 marathon in a few weeks. It's my intention to beat my time from last year. To do that, I need to run more than I do now. Today, we tried a new training method, run 1 minute, walk 2. At first, I didn't enjoy it, but I quickly got into the rhythm of it and actually enjoyed it! It definitely challenged us both and I loved that too! So, we did 10 miles in 2 hours and 30 minutes. Yay us!

Cedar River trail
I'm a day late in posting this, but I did hit the trail yesterday for a nice walk with a good friend. We did about 3 1/2 miles in 58 mins. I love my trail time with my friends. It's good for the whole of me!
