A wet one
Jenn and I had to get one more good training session in before our next race this weekend. Tonight we tackled the 140th hill and attempted to run UP parts of it. Which we did a little of. But we were distracted by a crazy downpour and then this amazing double rainbow, which just had to be appreciated! Overall, we did 6.5 miles in 1 hr 42 mins. I am proud of us, and am much warmer after a long, hot shower.

Back to the normal routine
It felt good to get back to the normal routine today. While the boys played soccer, Darla and I walked the trail. Did 3 miles in under and hour. Even the sunshine made an appearance!

Finally, some trail time
My dear friends and I did 4.5 miles in 1:30 mins on the cedar river trail tonight. It was so nice to get back out there, I needed that. My soul sighed as my feet hit the pavement. Thanks, girls!

A little bit of slacking
No workout yesterday and no walk today, either. But, I did shovel dirt and push a wheelbarrel around for a good chunk of the day. I think that counts as exercise in my book.

No walk tonight
I am choosing to forgo a walk this evening.....my body is already sore and aching from a day of yard work. We shoveled, raked, removed grass clumps and rocks, and lifted wood for about 7 hours. Do you think that counts for enough exercise today? My body is saying, Yes!

Long haul on the Cedar River trail
Jenn and I continue to work the long miles on the weekends, getting us ready for our next 1/2 marathon in a few weeks. It's my intention to beat my time from last year. To do that, I need to run more than I do now. Today, we tried a new training method, run 1 minute, walk 2. At first, I didn't enjoy it, but I quickly got into the rhythm of it and actually enjoyed it! It definitely challenged us both and I loved that too! So, we did 10 miles in 2 hours and 30 minutes. Yay us!

Cedar River trail
I'm a day late in posting this, but I did hit the trail yesterday for a nice walk with a good friend. We did about 3 1/2 miles in 58 mins. I love my trail time with my friends. It's good for the whole of me!

Park walk
I so wasn't into it today, but made myself go! Darla and I did almost 2 miles in about 35 mins at the park today. Bleh. Oh well, tomorrow's a new day. I get to hit the trail without kids and I can't wait.

A little yoga
I was just not feeling the walk today, I'm still so sore from the 12k over the weekend. But I had to do something today, to stay on track. So, I did 30 mins of fat burning yoga while little D napped. It was *just* what I needed.

Seahawks 12k!

Did my first 12k today. It was fun.....I like the longer race rather than a 5k. It still takes me a good 3 miles to warm up. Brooke and I kept a good pace and finished officially at 1hr 49 mins. I did push myself to run more which I don't really enjoy, and I pulled a muscle in my left leg. But overall, we kicked it!

Cedar River Trail
Thanks again to my dear mom, I was able to get some miles in today without kids! After pushing a stroller for the last three days, my back needed the break. And double yay, a dear friend of mine was able to join me! I swear, there is something magical about talks on the trail. They are SO therapeutic for me. My body is moving, and my mind is able to clear it all out. Mother nature is all around me, and I feel supported and energized. We did 3.2 miles in 52 mins. Perfect!

A quicky
Took a quick walk at the park while the boys had soccer practice. Again, it was about 45 mins and Darla and I did almost 3 miles. I am pretty sore now, after using the stroller three days in a row. My back is grumpy about the new posture, but I'm sure it'll get better.

Six more miles
A couple of friends and I are participating in the Seahawks 12k this weekend and tonight was the best night this week to train. So, I added 6.2 more miles to my tally today. It was a nice was to end the day. I feel invigorated and pretty confident that I will sleep well tonight. Thanks, Brooke!

Walking with the kids
We did a walk to a nearby park this morning. It wasn't so fast, and there were lots of stops along the way, but I still got my heart rate up and it was nice to be outta the house with my littles. Did about 3 miles in an hour, not counting the park play in the middle.

Soccer Practice walk
While my son and husband participated in soccer practice, my daughter and I walked the trail around the park. I did 2.24 miles in 40 mins. It was a little soggy, but I always feel better after going. And lil D hung out in the stroller long enough for me to feel good about the effort. Whoot!

A 10 mile morning
My friend and I hit the Cedar river trail this morning for some 1/2 marathon training. We did 10 miles in about 2 hours 40 mins. A little slow but neither of us was feeling the run this morning. It was a wonderful way to start the day!
Swollen river....amazing!
One of my favorite sites on the trail.
